AN MSP is seeking talks with the police to tackle the "scourge of drugs" in her constituency following the death of a teenager in Ballingry.

Annabelle Ewing has extended her condolences and sympathies to the family of the 16-year-old boy who died in what has been described as suspected drug-related circumstances at a property in Kirkland Avenue on Sunday, October 29.

A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson confirmed that four people were taken to hospital following the incident.

They said: "We received a call at 1150 hours on Sunday to attend an address in Ballingry.

"We dispatched several resources to the scene and transported four patients to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.”

It is understood that this small number of youths were taken into hospital as a precaution and have now been discharged.

“There is a Police Scotland investigation ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information that might be of any relevance whatsoever to these enquiries to get in touch with the Police.

“I am seeking a meeting with Police Scotland to discuss what more can be done to try and tackle the scourge of drugs affecting communities in my constituency.”
