A CHILD could have been "wiped out" as the dangerous use of off-road bikes in the Central Fife area continues to cause alarm.

Pictured above is the scene of one driver performing a wheelie on Bank Street in Lochgelly last Monday.

The man was wearing no helmet - only a balaclava - and was reportedly driving at speed just as children and some elderly members of the local community were exiting a local theatre performance just before noon.

An eyewitness said: "There were wee kids running around and some older people in the street, at least one using a mobility scooter.

"The guy was up on his back wheel and wasn't wearing a helmet, just that balaclava.

"With that driving he could have wiped out a kid.

Concerns over off-road bikes in the local area have increased recently.
