Tam O'Ware has made a move for a midfield player he rates as having "a lot of potential" to bolster his Kelty Hearts squad.
Matthew Falconer has arrived at New Central Park on loan, until January, from Championship side Partick Thistle.
The 19-year-old, a graduate of the Glasgow outfit's youth system, joins the Maroon Machine having made five appearances for his parent club so far this season.
"Matthew is an exciting young midfielder and someone we believe has a lot of potential," O'Ware said.
"There are big things expected of him at Partick Thistle and we’re looking forward to helping him continue his development here at Kelty."
Falconer, who joined Thistle's academy when he was 11, signed a modern apprenticeship at Firhill two years ago, before signing his first professional contract with them in May.
He made his senior debut for the Jags in February of last year, as a substitute against Airdrieonians, and spent time last season on loan with Lowland League side, Linlithgow Rose.
Falconer told Kelty's website that he was keen to take up the opportunity with the League Two outfit, after discussions took place between the clubs.
His move also comes after O'Ware revealed that he's set to be missing players such as Ryan Shanley, Dylan Corr, and Finn Moffett, for a lengthy period due to injury.
Falconer said: "I'm excited for the opportunity to get some valuable game time and experience and to get going with the boys.
"I want to get a good run of games for the team and hopefully provide a few goals and assists along the way."
O'Ware, who played for the Maryhill club, prior to signing for Kelty in the summer of 2021, continued: "He’ll bring energy to our midfield and has an eye for goal, which are qualities we feel can add something to the squad.
"We’re looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can bring to the team."
Falconer was involved in each of Thistle's four Premier Sports Cup group stage matches, and made an appearance as a substitute in their Championship opener last month, at Greenock Morton.
Their head coach, Mark Wilson, said: "Matty has shown up really well whenever he’s had the chance to play in the first team, even when he’s been asked to play out of position, but, with the level of competition in the squad at the moment, we felt a loan move would be the natural next step for him.
"League Two is a good level to be playing at, and we already have Liam Rooney getting plenty of minutes for Clyde in that division, which has been serving him well so far, and we want that to be the case for Matty, too.
"He's got bundles of talent and this is his opportunity to go and show that on a weekly basis in a very competitive environment – we're all excited to see how he gets on."
Falconer follows in the footsteps of Jags team-mate, Ricco Diack, who scored 8 goals in 17 appearances last season, in moving to Kelty on loan.
