Kelty Hearts have reached an agreement with neighbours Dunfermline to bring Alasdair Davidson back to the club on loan.
The 20-year-old, who signed a new contract with the Pars earlier this summer, has returned to New Central Park for a second spell in maroon.
He has moved to the League Two side for the duration of the campaign, but his parent club have the option to recall him in January.
Davidson, a boyhood Athletic fan, moved to the Maroon Machine in February as part of a co-operation agreement between the clubs.
The centre back had been with Lowland League, Bo'ness United, on a temporary arrangement prior to joining Tam O'Ware's men, for whom he made his debut at Alloa Athletic in March.
Despite going down to defeat, Davidson marked his bow by scoring Kelty's goal, the first of six appearances he made for them.
Although he was unable to help them avoid relegation from League One, he will now link back up with the New Central Park outfit, as they bid to bounce back to the third tier.
A former player with Inverkeithing United, Davidson joined Celtic at the age of 12, attending their performance school, St Ninian's High, in Kirkintilloch.
At the age of 16, he signed his first Celtic contract, having captained their under-15s, and went on to play for Scotland at under-16 and under-17 level.
He signed a new three-year deal with the Hoops in 2022, and played for the club in the UEFA Youth League, appearing as a substitute in a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig.
Davidson also featured 10 times for Celtic 'B', including nine matches in the Lowland League, before departing in the summer of 2025.
He contacted the former head of professional within the Dunfermline academy, John McLaughlan to ask if he could train with them to stay fit.
After showing up well in pre-season matches, Davidson impressed sufficiently to be offered a one-year deal, and played twice towards the end of the campaign, in draws against Airdrieonians and Arbroath.
In June, he signed a new one-year contract at KDM Group East End Park, and has featured once for the first team this season, against Dumbarton, in last month's Premier Sports Cup group stage.
