TAM O’WARE fears defender Dylan Corr could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines and said he's still looking to add “five or six” players to the squad.
The 21-year-old missed Saturday’s dramatic 3-2 win over Stirling Albion after sustaining a knee injury in training, with the manager confirming it's likely to be bad news.
He said: “Dylan Corr, we’re waiting to get the results back from his knee, but it’ll be a longer-term injury.”
The centre-back was one of several absentees for the SPFL League Two victory at New Central Park.
Callum Flatman, who had to sit out the entire 2025-26 campaign with a knee injury, was ruled out with a thigh problem, while Ross Cunningham missed the match after picking up a virus.
The Maroon Machine were dealt another blow late in the game when defender Zack Flatman was forced off.
The boss expects Callum Flatman to be unavailable for up to three weeks after the player suffered a setback following his return.
He said: “He’s tweaked his thigh, which we kind of expected with Cal, because he’s come back so good.
“When you come back from a serious injury, you’re out so long, there are always nicks.
“He’s more fatigued, but he will be out for two or three weeks.”
The growing injury list has left the side short of options early in the campaign.
Only five outfield subs were available against the Binos, while changes were required following Zack Flatman’s late injury.
Forward Craig Johnston remains out for the season after being sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury in January.
More arrivals are now needed if the Fife outfit are to avoid the squad-depth problems which hampered them last season and ultimately led to relegation.
Speaking prior to Tuesday's KDM Evolution Trophy game against Motherwell B, O'Ware said: “This year, it’s for different reasons. We don’t have as many players, because we need to bring in five or six.
"We'll try and get a couple in before Tuesday, but we’re not in a position where we’ve got a squad of 20 or 21 players. With these games here, we need to go through unscathed.”
He is determined not to see the side disrupted by injuries again following a difficult campaign last term.
He added: “I can’t have key injuries to key players throughout this team. I’m already having to make adjustments.
“I’m not going through another season like that.”
