TAM O'Ware is confident that his latest addition at Kelty Hearts will "thrive" with the League Two outfit.

On Saturday, ahead of their victory over Stirling Albion, the Maroon Machine announced that they had brought in St Mirren left back, Thomas Falconer.

The 18-year-old, who spent time with Dumbarton last term, has joined on loan from the Premiership side, and made his debut against the Binos.

Falconer came on midway through the second half for Finn Moffett, playing his part in helping Kelty to win their first home league game of the season, thanks to Robbie Cole's decisive effort late on.

He joined the Sons , who O'Ware's side will face this season, as part of a co-operation agreement they had with Falconer's parent club during the last campaign.

He played eight times for them, as well as for Saints in the KDM Evolution Trophy, a Scottish Cup tie with Auchinleck Talbot, and a Premiership clash with Dundee United.

Falconer turned out for the Buddies in Premier Sports Cup group stage games with Dumbarton - scoring in a 4-0 win - and Dunfermline before making the move to New Central Park.

He is a player that O'Ware previously worked with when he was involved with Rangers' academy, and the Maroon Machine manager commented : "Thomas is an excellent young player who I think will thrive with us.

"He has great technical qualities and reads the game well. Having worked with him at Rangers, I'm looking forward to working with him again."

St Mirren presented Falconer with the opportunity to move to Kelty, and it was a proposition that the player was pleased to accept.

"I am happy to be joining Kelty Hearts and I can't wait to get going," he commented.

"Ever since they (St Mirren) told me about the loan move I've been really excited about the opportunity and I'm happy to see it done.

"My ambitions are to help the team as much as possible and be as high in the league table as possible."

Falconer's arrival takes the number of signings made by Kelty so far this summer to eight.
