Kelty Hearts saw their pre-season preparations continue at the weekend but fell to a second successive friendly defeat.
Tam O'Ware's side, having lost to Gala Fairydean Rovers seven days prior,travelled to League Two champions, East Kilbride, on Saturday.
The Maroon Machine started all but one of their summer signings - only Connor McManus wasn't involved - whilst they had five trialists on the bench.
The hosts have replaced Kelty in League One, following the latter's relegation, and took command of proceedings with three goals in as many first half minutes.
Goalkeeper Jamie Smith was adjudged to have felled João Baldé inside the penalty box, which allowed Cami Elliott to step up and score from the spot.
A minute later, Keir Foster netted with an effort via the inside of the far post to double East Kilbride's advantage, before Malik Zaid quickly added another on the half hour mark.
Craig McGuffie completed the scoring early in the second half, leaving Kelty to prepare for the visit of neighbours, Dunfermline, in another warm-up match this Saturday.
O'Ware had been due to take his side to play Partick Thistle, who finished second in last season's Championship, and reached the Premiership play-off final, where they lost to St Mirren, on Tuesday.
However, the game at Petershill Park is not going ahead, with Kelty citing "unforeseen circumstances" for its cancellation.
They'll next welcome Neil Lennon's Pars to New Central Park, having played them at home in pre-season last year, and in a Scottish Cup fifth round tie at KDM Group East End Park in February, which they lost 2-0.
"It's always important," O'Ware said of how crucial tests against higher league opposition will be for his team.
"We done it last year as well and it gave us a good gauge, albeit, the Dunfermline game was probably the last one that we had that group of players, with what came round the corner.
"But, again, this season's no different.
"We want to challenge the players before we go into what's going to be a really challenging campaign."
Tickets for the game are available via Fanbase, costing £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and under-16s, and £5 for under-12s.
