Ryan Shanley has revealed his new manager's vision and speaking to existing squad members helped sell Kelty Hearts to him.
The 25-year-old became Tam O'Ware's first summer signing last month when he made the move from Stirling Albion, and has since be followed by a further five new additions.
It is a second spell in maroon for the forward, who had a brief loan spell at New Central Park during the 2020/21 campaign, which saw them win promotion from the Lowland League, whilst coming through the ranks at Hibernian.
After leaving Easter Road, Shanley enjoyed a productive spell with Edinburgh City, which earned him a move to Falkirk in January 2024.
He helped the Bairns to the League One title before, midway through the following season, moving to Stirling in January of last year.
Shanley scored 18 goals for the Binos, including 12 last term, but is enthused by the challenge of moving to their League Two rivals.
"I've settled in well," he told Kelty Hearts TV.
"I knew some of the boys that were here last season, and know them on a personal level as well.
"I spoke to them, spoke to the manager, and felt it was time to get a fresh start, and go and try and achieve something with the group of players.
"I'm quite close with some, so I think that's a good start, fighting for each other off the back.
"Then you get to know the different boys, different personalities, and then go from there and get to know each other.
"Then you just kind of bounce off each other and take it on the pitch.
"It (O'Ware's plans) was really important.
"We spoke about it and we obviously know what we want to do, so that was really encouraging.
"It's a club that wants to go in the right direction."
Shanley, who said that his link up play is the strongest part of his game, also thinks Kelty will be getting a more rounded player than they did during his previous loan spell.
"I think I'm more experienced," he added.
"I think I must've been 18, 19, when I first came, so, I've played a lot more games, and gained a lot more experience, with different teams and different managers.
"It's definitely something I can offer."
