Kelty Hearts goalkeeper Kyle Gourlay has left the club after signing a pre-contract agreement with Brechin City.
The 27-year-old has agreed a two-year contract at Glebe Park after making 71 appearances for the Maroon Machine.
Gourlay, who came through the youth ranks at Dundee, moved to New Central Park in the summer of 2023 from Cove Rangers, where had moved from Hamilton Academical.
Prior to that, he'd played for Clyde, Airdrieonians and Elgin City on loan, and quickly established himself as first choice under then Kelty boss, Michael Tidser.
However, at the end of his first season at the club, Gourlay left after getting a job on an oil rig in the North Sea.
In November last year, though, Gourlay re-signed for the club under current manager, Tam O'Ware, after he returned to shore for a new role off the pitch.
He went on to play 27 games in all competitions during the remainder of the season, which saw the Maroon Machine finish bottom of League One, and suffer relegation.
Gourlay had been one of Kelty's out-of-contract players who was in discussions with the club about extending his stay, but he has opted to join Brechin, who will play in the Lowland League East next season.
Their manager, Andy Kirk, who played with Dunfermline for almost five years during his own career, said: "I'm really pleased to be able to bring Kyle Gourlay to the club.
"Kyle is technically very strong with both his hands and feet, and brings with him good experience of playing in the SPFL.
"After meeting with Kyle, it was clear he was looking for a new challenge, and I am delighted he has chosen to do that with Brechin City."
Prior to news of Gourlay's departure, O'Ware had moved to strengthen the goalkeeping department with the signing of Jamie Smith, from Livingston.
He is one of five new arrivals so far, alongside attacking pair Ryan Shanley and Finn Moffett, midfielder Connor McManus, and full back, Callum Hannah.
O'Ware has another keeper, Ryan Adamson, under contract for next term, and the club remain in dialogue with Craig Clay, Robbie Cole and Ben Hobbs over their futures.
