Kelty Hearts will make a first-ever trip to Pittodrie as part of their Premier Sports Cup group stage campaign next season.
Aberdeen will play host to the Maroon Machine, who they've never played before, in the competition when it kicks off next month.
But there may be some familiar faces as a number of young Dons did play on loan for the Fife side last season, until the co-operation agreement came to an end midway through the campaign.
The draw has been made for the first phase of the tournament, which begins over the weekend of July 11-12.
The SPFL clubs who have not qualified for European competition, joined by Lowland League East pair Linlithgow Rose and Brechin City, and Highland League Brora Rangers, will begin their quest for glory in the group phase.
The competing teams were separated into five pots, according to league placings from last season, to determine the make up of the eight sections.
Tam O'Ware's men, who finished bottom of League One, and were subsequently relegated, were amongst the third seeds.
They were drawn into Group A, which already contained Aberdeen and Queen's Park, and also includes Queen of the South and Brora.
Kelty will end their fixtures in the Granite City, on Saturday July 25, after the schedule for the games was confirmed.
O'Ware's men will open up with a trip to Dumfries, on Saturday July 11, to take on the Doonhamers, who have been divisional rivals over each of the last four seasons.
In 17 fixtures between the clubs in all competitions, Kelty have won nine, five of which were at Palmerston, although both League One fixtures last term there ended in defeat.
Three days later, New Central Park will host second tier, Queen's Park, who inflicted a 6-0 loss on the Maroon Machine, at their City Stadium home, two years ago, at this stage of the League Cup, in their only previous meeting.
A week later, Kelty will welcome Highland League champions Brora, which will see them play each other for a second successive season.
Last year, Kelty were 4-0 winners at Dudgeon Park, and they were 6-1 aggregate winners over them in 2021 to set up a League Two play-off final with Brechin, which was won to secure promotion to the SPFL.
A trip to the north east to play Stephen Robinson's Dons concludes the group stage for Kelty, who have yet to progress to the League Cup's knockout rounds.
The eight group winners, plus the three best-placed runners-up, will qualify for the last 16, where Celtic, Heart of Midlothian, Rangers, Motherwell and Hibernian, who have all qualified for Europe, will enter the tournament.
