THE result did not go Kelty’s way on Saturday but it was a debut to remember for loanee Alasdair Davidson.
The centre half arrived at New Central Park from parent club Dunfermline Athletic through the SFA co-op agreement.
He made his first appearance for Kelty against Alloa Athletic on Saturday and got himself on the scoresheet to put his side in front.
The Wasps turned the tide in the second half, however, and poor defending cost the visitors two goals and ended their unbeaten streak.
Davidson said: “I thought we dominated the full game honestly.
“I thought we did really well and felt we were really comfortable. For the one-to-ones, we dominated.
“We did good but for the goals, just really poor.”
Davidson introduced himself to the Kelty support after Innes Murray sent his delivery into the box.
The new number 25 battled with Wasps centre half David McKay and got the better of him as he stuck his left foot around the defender and steered the ball past Liam McFarlane.
He said: “I was delighted for that because what a first game to get a goal.”
Dunfermline announced a co-op loan agreement with neighbours Kelty on February 26.
This allows Scottish players under the age of 21 to move back and forth between loan and parent club, in a bid to maximise playing time.
As part of the agreement, Davidson was sent to Kelty from the Pars after impressing at Bo’ness United earlier in the season.
“It’s all happened so fast,” Davidson said. “It only happened in a matter of days but I’m really enjoying it here.
“My first game, I think I’ve done really well and I’m in a really good place so just want to keep going.”
The loss to Alloa ended an unbeaten streak Kelty had established after a run of five draws in the league.
They look ahead to hosting East Fife at New Central Park and Davidson is keen to put this result behind him.
He added: “The goals are really disappointing and hard to take after playing so well because we were the best team.
“I’m gutted but I’m pleased with my performance and I think we just need to sweep this result under the carpet and go again.”
