Lewis Moore earns Kelty Hearts Montrose League One draw

Tam O'Ware said he was pleased with the performance of his Kelty Hearts side after they came from behind to earn a point at Montrose.

The Maroon Machine, bottom of League One, earned a fifth successive draw at Links Park to inch closer to ninth-placed Hamilton Academical.

They went to Angus on the back of Saturday's creditable scoreless draw at home to leaders, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but fell behind shortly before the break when Ewan Loudon headed home.

Kelty, though, equalised with 17 minutes to go when Lewis Moore found the top corner, from the centre of the penalty area, for his second goal of the campaign.

The visitors might even have won it late on, when Innes Murray was denied by goalkeeper, Harry Sharp, but the points were shared.

O'Ware's side are now three points behind Accies, who lost at home to Stenhousemuir, with nine games to go, but with an inferior goal difference.

They go to Alloa Athletic this Saturday and, speaking to Kelty Hearts TV, he said: "I'm extremely pleased, moreso with the performance.

"I think we were dominant in possession with the ball. We had some large spells, it was just that final bit, which we understand as a squad that, that clinical striker, we don't have in the squad right now due to injuries.

"But, our overall play I was really happy with, how we defended.

"Dylan Corr and Jack Brydon had a handful against Ewan Loudon and Taylor Sutherland, especially with how direct they went.

"It was a threat for them, but I think they two of them did really well.

"Overall, happy. We know hard it is to come up here and get anything. Montrose have had a great season so far.

"We're probably disappointed we don't put that chance away at the end, but, overall, really happy."
