On Sunday, Cowdenbeath Bowling Club hosted an exciting Open Pairs competition.

Players from Cowdenbeath, Broad Street, Valleyfield, Bowhill and Lumphinnans showcased impressive skills throughout the day.

The semi-finals featured Les Hamill and Stevie Watson against Emma and Lee Connor, and Eric McMillan and Jim Crawford facing Lyall Robertson and Abigail.

Emma and Lee performed well to reach the final, but it was Eric and Jim who dominated, scoring a remarkable six in the first end, leaving Lyall and Abigail struggling to recover.

In the final, Eric shone brightly, while Jim made crucial conversions.

Despite Lee's efforts with heavy bowls, Eric and Jim secured victory, winning the trophy and a £200 cash prize.

Emma and Lee took home £100, with the semi-finalists receiving £50.

Earlier, the club also hosted a successful ‘Skip’s Invitation Day’, filled with great bowls and entertainment.
