FOUR teams will battle it out for titles on gala day next month when the Jackie Allan Cowdenbeath Civic Week football tournament reaches its climax.

The competition, which is named after the man who was involved in running the town's gala day over many decades, will reach its finale on Sunday June 9 after qualifiers were recently held.

Taking place over two days, at Cowdenbeath FC's Central Park, a series of five-a-side matches, for boys and girls school teams, took place to determine who would go through to the finals.

Taking place under the watchful eye of Cowden In The Community coach, Dean Ewing, there was a good turn out of supporters to cheer on the teams, from Cowdenbeath, Crossgates, Foulford, Kelty, Lumphinnans and St Bride's primary schools.

After some excellent football, the girls’ final will involve Hill of Beath and Crossgates, while the boys’ final will see Foulford take on Crossgates.
