COWDENBEATH hope to announce the name of their new manager later this week.
The club’s board has spent the last few days speaking to a chosen short leet to get the right man for the job.
Club secretary David Allan said: “It is important that we get the right person for the post, and we are now close to making a decision.
“Hopefully we will have some positive news for the fans by later this week.”
With over 20 applications for the post, the board have been working hard at creating a quality short leet to make the final choice from.
The manager's job became vacant in March when Calum Elliot left the post to take charge at League 2 side Bonnyrigg Rose.
Former Dunfermline Athletic and East Fife boss Stevie Crawford took charge on a temporary basis at Central Park until the end of the season.
