GET READY to Swim Bike Run as Triathlon Scotland announces plans to launch a new multisport programme at Lochore Aquathlon.

The Swim Bike Run programme is community-focused and offers families of all abilities the chance to take part in the three sports that make up a triathlon.

Swim Bike Run Mini, which will launch the programme in Scotland, is a bite-sized version that consists of two or three elements of swim, bike and run.

The Lochore Meadows event, which will see participants complete an open water swim followed by a run, will provide a great introduction to multisport for adults, kids and, for the first time, families.

Triathlon Scotland Head of Participation, Jude Salmon, said: “We are delighted to be launching the Swim Bike Run programme in Scotland at the Lochore Aquathlon. The short, beginner-friendly races will provide a fantastic opportunity for participants to try our sport for the first time,

“We plan to expand the programme of Swim Bike Run activity across the country, introducing more people to the sport by making it more open and more inclusive.”

Open to those aged six and over, Swim Bike Run Mini provides a great low-cost activity for families. There are three options to take part:

  • Swim Bike Run Mini Adults (age 15+): A 200m swim followed by a 3km run.
  • Swim Bike Run Mini Kids (age 8+): A 50m swim followed by a 1km run.
  • Swim Bike Run Mini Families (age 6+): A 50m swim followed by a 1km run (adult to child ratio 1:2)

The events will take place as part of a festival of activity which will include competitive open races for adults and children, as well as the flagship British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series, the pinnacle of domestic racing for the future stars of the sport aged 15-19.
