PLANS have been tabled for a new multi-use games area (MUGA) in Hill of Beath.

Fife Council have put in an application for the facility, which would be built on playing fields next to an existing play area and close to Hill of Beath Hawthorn's ground at Keirs Park.

The new MUGA off Main Street will have markings for five-a-side football, basketball and tennis, as well as hopefully "vandal resistant" basketball hoops and goals.

It will measure 36 metres by 18 metres and be enclosed by a three metre high fence.

Villagers have been asking for such a facility since at least 2016 and, amid concerns about flooding in the area, there are plans for drainage beneath the playing surface.
