MICHAEL TIDSER will hold conversations with the parent clubs of his loan players as he hopes to extend their stay with Kelty Hearts.

Alfie Bavidge, who scored during Saturday's loss at Falkirk, Lewis O'Donnell and Fergus Owens are all on temporary deals at New Central Park from Aberdeen, Dundee United and Hamilton Academical respectively.

Tidser said he would have a conversation with the Dons over whether it would be possible to extend Bavidge's stay, and is set to do the same in regards to midfielder O'Donnell and centre back Owens.

The latter, together with left back, Jamie Walker, were hailed by the player / manager as "brilliant" during the game with the Bairns and, on Owens, he said: "I love Fergus to bits.

"We're really pleased to have him. That's a conversation for us and Hamilton as well, but I genuinely think he'll go and have a top career, because I think he's got all the attributes to go and be a right good player.

"I've half spoken to Hamilton so we'll see where we're at with that. He enjoys it here. They all enjoy it here; there's no doubt about it. I speak to them and they say they love playing every week at a good level, they enjoy training, so that's half the battle for me as a manager.

"We'll see where we are come January. Hopefully the three of them are still here."

One player who Tidser hopes he can rely on in the second half of the campaign is skipper, Tam O'Ware, who it is hoped can step up his recovery from injury in the next week.

The 30-year-old centre back has been out of action since a 3-1 win over Queen of the South at the end of September, and was, wrongly, listed on the team lines initially handed out to the media at the Falkirk Stadium.

An updated team sheet was then handed out, with the press told O'Ware had been replaced by Jason Thomson, but Tidser confirmed the former was not included in the squad for the match at any point.

"He's slowly getting back to doing more stuff now so we're hoping, over the next 10 days or so, he can start really putting more impact on it and getting himself back on the grass and running," he continued when asked for an update.

"He's a big a player for us as well. He's club captain, he knows what I think of him, it's just up to him now to get himself fit and show me that he wants to really push to get back. Then it's a really big call for me now because Jason and Fergus have been outstanding for me."

Meanwhile, Tidser has challenged his side to try and consolidate fourth place in League One before the New Year as they prepare to welcome Montrose on Saturday.

Kelty remain in the final promotion play-off place, one point and spot ahead of their opponents this weekend, who were heavily beaten at home to Queen of the South, and Tidser added: "I said to Geordie (Kevin McDonald, his assistant manager) the other day in the office that people will start taking points off each other now going into the Christmas period.

"I never want to lose any games, but a full-time team playing against a part-time team, you're not expected to get anything, so for us to go toe-to-toe, and they're wasting time with five minutes to go, that tells me where we're at.

"It's important now that over the next few weeks, we've got Montrose, we've got Alloa, we've got Hamilton, that we go and try and consolidate fourth.

"I'm happy with the performances. I said that to the lads. I could finish 10th or ninth, as long as they're playing the right way. I always believe performances will get you results.

"The boys are in a good place. It's just up to me to maintain those standards and keep pushing going into the New Year."
