KELTY HEARTS and Cowdenbeath have confirmed that their respective matches this afternoon have been called off due to the weather.

This morning, both clubs have announced that they will not be in action due to heavy overnight snowfall that has affected the country.

Kelty were due to host Edinburgh City - who they have beaten twice already this season - in SPFL League One, but the pitch at New Central Park is unplayable.

Michael Tidser's team were seeking a third win in a row, but will next be in action at current league leaders Falkirk next Saturday.

The Blue Brazil, meanwhile, had been due to face Stirling University at Central Park in a Lowland League fixture, following their spirited Scottish Cup showing at Inverness Caledonian Thistle last Saturday.

They announced yesterday (Friday) that an early morning pitch inspection would be called, and it has also deemed the game as not being playable.

Their next scheduled fixture is at home to Celtic B next Saturday.

Meanwhile, the weather has also impacted on the East of Scotland League card, with Hill of Beath Hawthorn's Premier Division game at Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts called off.

Crossgates Primrose's match at home to Broxburn Athletic, and Dundonald Bluebell's game at Haddington Athletic, are also off, as are Lochore Welfare's trip to Leith Athletic, and Lochgelly Albert's home fixture with Livingston United.
