TWO Lochore Welfare stalwarts have been honoured for their service.

Former chairman John Kirkland Snr; and former vice chairman David Moore are pictured after receiving their much deserved long service recognition awards for the work they have done for Lochore Welfare JFC.

Life member Brian Menzies was on hand to present the awards on Monday tonight.

Both John and David have been instrumental in the way the club has overcome a number of hurdles over recent years.

Their enthusiasm and ability to turn their hand to anything has seen it able to take on membership of the East of Scotland League after the committee shrunk in size a few seasons back.

However, they are now waiting for the new season as they step up from the junior ranks and they are looking forward to becoming a senior club and joining the SFA Pyramid system.

The club has been able to attract a number of new committee persons and it held a very successful music fundraising event a couple of weekends back which saw upwards of 150 people enjoy the entertainment on offer at the park in Crosshill.
