Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony admits he's getting bored of Ivan Toney speculation - as he revealed Celtic fans have complained to him over PRICE.

The Posh striker, who scored 26 goals last season before shutdown, is a wanted man in Glasgow. The Hoops have previously lodged a bid, but the League One club want more than on the table.

MacAnthony claims some big name clubs are in for Toney, 24, and that the club won't budge on fee.

And he has claimed Hoops fans have moaned at him over what they feel to be too high an asking price.

“It’s been a frustrating time with regard to Ivan," he told his Hard Truth podcast. "I’ve had Celtic fans telling me we shouldn’t be asking £5m for a League One player, but believe me the deal we negotiated a couple of weeks ago was for a lot more than that.

“Ivan was given permission to speak to the club but so far nothing has happened.

“There are other clubs negotiating to buy him. Others are going to join the party. There are Premier League clubs having recruitment meetings in the next few days. There’s a big club, which isn’t in England, involved, but we won’t have our pants pulled down on the fee.

"We promised Ivan last January he could leave if we didn’t go up and he can, but for the right fee. He’s worth what we say he is worth."
