LAST Friday a squad of 64 golfers took part in a Cowdenbeath version of The Ryder Cup!

It was the seventh year of running it and the biggest field to date.

It started with 12 players seven years ago from guys who play 5 a-sides together and it has grown each year.

Said one of those involved, Scott Duthie: "It is the Reds against the Blues at Cowdenbeath Golf Club and featured players of all abilities from 2 handicappers to guys who were sharing clubs!

"It is always a fun day played in good spirit. The final score was 14-2 to the Blues.

"Sounds a bit of a bit of a landslide but seven matches went to the last green which the Blues all won so it could have been on a knife edge.

"A good successful day and the club got plenty of money behind the bar with the prizegiving afterwards."
