THEY do say when life gives you lemons you should make lemonade! Well Cowdenbeath FC decided to take that advice and their latest publication covers the club's 140 year history .

The abbreviated 2019/20 season meant the award winning Blue Brazilian Matchday programme was not produced for the last three scheduled home League games at Central Park.

That though instead allowed time to look at another publication project to suitably mark the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Club.

Said club director, and historian, David Allan: "We are therefore delighted to confirm that now available is the three volume History of Cowdenbeath FC 1880 - 2020.

"It really is a must have for every Cowdenbeath fan — for the first time the full story of Cowdenbeath FC can be told - from Mrs Margaret Pollock buying the first football ever seen in the town in 1880, right up to lockdown 2020 and everything in between!

"The three volumes tell the story of Cowdenbeath FC in words and pictures and over 250 pictures are included".

Part 1 - The Signalmen - covers the club’s most successful period 1880 to 1940, when the club featured at the top level.

Part 2 – The Miners - looks at the Post-War era 1940 to 2000, which also saw promotion achieved more than once.

Part 3 – The Blue Brazil - covers the turbulent and exciting 21st Century Cowden, when two titles were won and West Fife rivals Dunfermline Athletic were famously beaten 3-0 at East End Park to see the Blues stay in the Championship at the expense of their friends the Pars .

Added David: "Each volume is 52 pages, with no adverts, adding up to a 156 page history of Cowdenbeath FC.

"Each individual booklet is priced at £4. To purchase all 3 by post will cost £13.50.

"Individual volumes are £5.70 (including postage).

"The best method to get your copies for now is by making a £13.50 donation to Club 135 via the club’s website and that figure will automatically trigger an order".
