THE Fife Football Association has decided to take pragmatic action as regards season 2019/20.

The current season’s Fife Cup competition has been suspended and it was agreed to waive holding the 2019/20 AGM scheduled for next month.

Existing office bearers and club representatives will remain in situ for season 2020/21 unless any club nominates a new representative by April 30 2020.

The Association are anxious to get a new competition up and running for next season and Cowdenbeath director David Allan, who is chairman of the Association, explained what will be happening.

He said: "Once the current Emergency Period is at an end a meeting will be held to consider how the Fife Cup will be resumed e.g. if season 2020/21 gets underway more or less on schedule perhaps amalgamate that year’s competition with this season’s and just play the remaining ties.

"Hopefully it will not be too long until we find out what is going to happen."

The Fife Football Association also elected to make a financial distribution from its reserves to all eight member clubs. Best wishes to all at this difficult time, in particular all those involved in the Fife football community.
