RESULTS at the weekend showed Elgin City moving just a point behind Cowdenbeath in the race for the top four play-off place in Ladbrokes League 2.

So it makes tonight's re-arranged game at Boroughbriggs between the sides a highly important fixture.

A win for Cowden would take them away from City with the Blues having a game in hand.

Manager Gary Bollan is confident his team can come back with a result from the trip north: "Elgin are a tough nut to crack at their own place but we have the firepower to win this one.

"Hopefully the conditions will be a bit better than at Annan on Saturday where a very blustery wind made it difficult for both sides and we can get at worst a point, although getting the win is our aim."

Defender Jamie Pyper is suffering from a bout of illness so will be unavailable as is midfielder Gavin Morrison who is nearing fitness, but he has Kris Renton, David Cox, Jordan Allan and Jordyn Sheerin available in attack.
