Rangers fans appear to have admitted defeat in the top-flight title race after dropping more points away to St Johnstone yesterday.

Gers allowed a 2-1 lead to slip through their fingers when Stevie May levelled late on. Callum Hendry had given the hosts the lead before Florian Kamberi and Joe Aribo turned the game.

The 2-2 result leaves Rangers toiling 12 points behind rivals Celtic and supporters pulled no punches in their criticisms of their players.

One moaned: "Might as well just pick the league cup up and hand it to celtic now, really p***ed of with league performances its a joke". Another complained: "Not good enough. Our defence just threw that game away. Katic needs dropped and never brought back."

One fan sniped: "Been struggling to score for almost 2 months.... aye keep the same system", before a fourth added: "Horrific defending and that’s the league by. End of."

Some were furious with manager Steven Gerrard's decision-making and made their feelings known. "Gerrard out," one blasted. Another wrote: "Gerrard doesn’t have a clue. A shambles of a team".

Rangers have dropped points in four of their previous seven matches in the league while relentless Celtic have won all of their matches in the same timeframe.
