FORMER Blue Brazil loanee Luc Bollan has joined Premiership side Aberdeen on a 12-month contract.

The 19-year-old son of Cowden boss Gary put pen to paper on a deal to become part of the Pittodrie side’s development squad.

Bollan began his career at Dundee United and played twice for the Championship club’s first team - in Irn-Bru Cup ties with St Johnstone under-20s and Alloa Athletic - last season before moving to Central Park in February.

The centre back was red carded in the final minute of his debut, a 4-2 defeat at home to Annan, but went on to play a further 12 times for Cowden as they finished sixth in League Two.

Dons development squad coach Paul Sheerin said: “I spoke to Gary about his son – obviously it was difficult for him not to give a biased report! But we also spoke to plenty of other people to get their thoughts on him.

“I have known Luc from watching him in the past in games against the under-18s and younger age groups at Dundee United. I knew there was potential there.

“I have seen enough to suggest that he could develop into a good centre half.”
