COWDENBEATH face one of the leading sides in Ladbrokes League 2 for the third time in four matches.

Peterhead are the visitors to Central Park tonight with a 7.45pm start and Cowden will be trying to avoid a fourth successive defeat.

Peterhead went top of the table on Saturday when they won, allied to Edinburgh City's defeat at Clyde, so it will be a tough ask for the Blues to end their recent bad run.

Cowden lost to mid table Stirling Albion on Saturday thanks to an error strewn performance and manager Gary Bollan wants an improvement tonight.

He said: "Against Stirling we gave away two gift goals and missed a couple of simple chances and that all added up to us losing the game 2-1 when we should have taken at worst a draw from it.

"There just has been too many mistakes creeping into our game over the past few matches, indeed, ever since the Rangers cup-tie, and if we want to look to beat Peterhead these have to be eliminated."

He added: "Peterhead have gone top and will be looking to stay there until the end of the season, but that brings with it its own pressure and we have to look to put them under pressure, and not give away any gifts."

Cowden have everyone available apart from injured full-back Jason Talbot, who should be ready for action by the middle of the month.
