SATURDAY night saw the annual dance and presentation of prizes at Cowdenbeath Bowling Club, where president Lindsay Black welcomed members and friends before asking for a minute's silence in memory of friends, relatives and colleagues lost.

Mitchell Drysdale offered grace and a great three course meal was enjoyed by all present. Catering was done by club members this year for a change, primarily David and Linda Duff with a dessert supplied by William Allan and tablet by Nicola Livingston.

Club members acted as waiters and waitresses for the night and did a sterling job.

Trophy winners for the year were as follows, Lady Captain Jen Johnson presented the ladies' trophies.

Trophies went to, President's - Emma Connor; Jubilee - Linda Duff; Championship - Mary McKay; The Inverkeithing Two Bridges Trophy was also presented, having been won by Mary McKay, Jean McKenzie, Linda Duff and Ina Young.

New Match Secretary Kevin Keir then took over and announced all the mixed and gents' competition winners. They were presented with their trophies by the president's wife, Kerry Black.

These went to, Haldane one day two bowl singles - Eddie Hastie; Garner Pairs one day two bowl pairs - David Hunt and Lindsay Black; Hat Night Trophy, which was presented by J & B Miller was played for throughout the season and won by David Duff.

The Overs and Unders Trophy was once again won by the Unders whose nominated captain was Kevin Keir. Mixed Pairs - Mary McKay and Andrew Johnstone. Mixed Triples - Mary McKay, William Allan and Lindsay Black.

Mixed fours was won by a triple this year of Ina Young, Kevin Keir and Brian Simpson.

The Taxi Trophy, another new trophy played for between new members Colin Sneddon and John Galloway was won by Galloway's Taxis. Club (ballot) Pairs was won by Brian Miller and Steven Hunter. Nomination Pairs was won by Steven Hunter and Robert McFarlane. Nomination Triples - Robert Thompson, Steven Hunter and Robert McFarlane.

Nomination Rink was won again by William Allan, Lindsay Black, Mitchell Drysdale and Andrew Johnstone. The Mixed Singles was won by Alan Moncur. GB Sinclair (for those not previously having won a singles trophy at Cowdenbeath Bowling Club) - James Watson.

Dewar over 55's - William Allan. Handicap - William Allan. Watson (qualifier for the West Fife Husband Trophy) - Robert McFarlane Championship - won for the first time by Steven Hunter.

The League Division 2 Trophy was also presented as was the League Cup. All in all another very successful year for Cowdenbeath Bowling Club.

Entertainment was provided by MASON who sang a good selection of popular songs and far too many had too much refreshments!
