COWDEN boss Gary Bollan is hoping to add another new signing ahead of Saturday's crunch clash with Albion Rovers.

The bottom two sides in League Two face off at Central Park and a win would give the Blue Brazil a seven points cushion over the pointless Coatbridge men.

Bollan brought on new loan signing, striker Josh Skelly from Montrose, as a sub against Peterhead and is scouring the market for more new faces.

He said: "There could well be another new face, we'll see what we can do in the next week or so. When Kyle Miller is out of the team, he's suspended just now, we lack someone with a bit of composure on the ball and can pass it for us.

"If someone comes along, a player like that, we'll certainly look at it but they have to be affordable."

The Blue Brazil boss was still trying to get his head round how his side, deservedly 2-1 up at the break on Saturday, let it slip in the second half with Peterhead winning 4-2.

And he said there will be changes for the Rovers match.

After the Peterhead game, he said: "I'm amazed that we could defend as bad as that in the second half as we have so many good players out there.

"To score two goals at home, we shouldn't be getting beat, that should be the platform to go and win the game.

"To lose the goals in the manner we did, I can't believe it.

"We went 2-2 in the first minute of the second half but there's no need to panic, we felt the lads didn't react properly to the equaliser going in, but there's still a 40 minutes game to go.

"The game starts again and you have go and win it and we didn't."

Bollan's men were in the driving seat to claim a second league win of the season and he continued: "We more than matched Peterhead in the first half, scored two really good goals and we were worthy of our half-time lead, but we've got to have more belief.

"They have to know that even if we do concede, it's not the end of the world.

"We've proved we can score goals so we just have to go up the park and do that. The players are good enough.

"Although we got beat 4-2 there were some pluses, young Robbie Deas was on and performed very well, we got Josh Skelly on the park and Kris Renton looking more like the player we brought in the summer.

"Looking ahead to the Albion game, there's good competition for places –we'll have Kyle Miller back – and there will be changes. We can't defend as we did today."

Peterhead wrapped up the match with a goal from their own half, ex-Dunfermline winger Willie Gibson sending a free kick sailing over a flailing Dave McGurn and into the net.

Bollan had praised the goalkeeper for a "fantastic" save just prior to the Blue Toon's equaliser, but on the last goal he tersely said: "Davie McGurn knows he shouldn't get beat from there."
