COWDENBEATH have the opportunity to really boost their chances of making an impact on their Betfred Cup section when they take on Inverness Caley Thistle tonight at Central Park.

Thistle, like Cowden, won their opening match by beating Cove Rangers at home on Saturday, so whoever wins tonight will be in a challenging position.

The Championship side will start favourites but they will be wary of coming to Central Park.

Cowden boss Gary Bollan was delighted with his side's performance in beating Raith Rovers on Saturday and wants the standard maintained tonight.

He said: "It was all about a good team performance against Rovers and we must keep up the standards against Inverness.

"They are a very useful side but our aim this season is to be very strong at home and we will be giving it our best shot."

Striker Kris Renton was an absentee on Saturday but may be fit for tonight's game, which has a 7.45pm start, although changes will be few if any.
