WITHIN three weeks of my last letter we have more concerns over the future of Cowdenbeath Recycling Centre.

I hope that Darren Watt does not get put off by the rhetoric of the chairman of the Environment Committee. From where I am standing you can't tell me that social distancing is a problem at Cuddyhouse Road.

For a start you are in the open air. Maybe the traffic management issues could play a part in that mind you but really if the the organisation is spot on that should not be an issue at all.

Councillor Watt is right to think there could be a hidden agenda here.

For all what the convener guy said he did not say that there was no way that Cowdenbeath Recycling Centre would not shut.

He also was quick to praise Lochgelly Recycling Centre, which makes you think there could be something in the offing about the future of the Cowdenbeath tip.

As I said in my last letter, the size of the population of Cowdenbeath, Kelty and Hill of Beath these days has to be more than 14,000 people, which more than justifies the area having its own centre.

But just think if the Cuddyhouse Road tip was closed down it would mean Lochgelly would have to deal with a population of more than 30,000, which would not be a very great plan.

I just hope that Darren Watt keeps working away putting pressure on and, as should the other local councillors, for the Cuddyhouse Road centre has to stay.
