The Way Back
The lockdown is easing after months of despair
A little at a time but still taking care
One of the worst things I think is not seeing each other
Our loved ones, parents, sisters and brothers.
Although we have been restricted from going out
It has definitely helped to contain it of that there is no doubt
We still have to be careful and stick to the plan
To do as we are told the best that we can.
One thing we should remember is that life is unique
Health above all is what we should seek
So if we all stick together and ride out this mess
We can come back much stranger and do with much less.
A lot of lives have been lost and we will never forget
All round the world and possibly more yet
We can only hope and pray that this horror soon ends
Then all countries and nations will at last be real friends.
MANUEL GIRALDAS.
