I WOULD like to give my grateful thanks to Maureen Kennedy (pictured below), at Identicat Scotland, in Cowdenbeath, for sending at this time of isolation not one, but both copies of her newly published books 'Chicago of Fife Part One and Chicago of Fife Part Two.

She has included not only history of Cowdenbeath but has covered, any areas of Fife. She did this as elderly folk alone like me could and would identify with us all.

Her long work, expense, but most of all, 'caring kindness', just thinking of folks like myself.

These books are beautifully hard covered and filled with 100s of colour photos.

The expense of these books must be great for I know of others and I know of residential homes/old folks homes, who also received both copies, they give answers to long history thoughts. These books I keep looking at and puzzling at photos. But we have all been told no charges, free to us.

Maureen has always cared for old, vulnerable and disabled people, and realised we all needed something when 'imprisoned' at home with the coronavirus crisis.

Just her thinking of us alone just perked me up. But when I received the first beauty of the copy of Part One I was overjoyed.

To then get the Chicago of Fife Part Two as well. The bother and time involved to get those all out to all of us must have been a big sacrifice, in more ways than one.

God bless you my lass. You have kept me going through this depressing and sad time. Your intentions as usual always pure but make sure Maureen, charge others just wanting books.

You are an angel to us all. Don't take risks, stay safe will you? With most grateful thanks for your 'caring' and 'giving' of so much.

G BLACK,

Stenhouse Street, Cowdenbeath.
