WELCOME to the age of Teflon politicians.
They have discovered that if they follow the opinion of ‘experts’ they are virtually bomb proof.
If the ‘experts’ are correct the politicians, with alacrity, claim all the credit. If however, things go badly wrong they will say that they were following the advice of the ‘experts’.
The ‘experts’ are, however, beginning to waken up to the fact that they have a dual role.
In addition to giving the politicians the benefit of their expertise, they also provide the politicians with an excuse when things don’t work out.
Heads the politicians win, tails the ‘experts’ lose.
