THE parents’ plan to create a new play area in Crossgates really is a brilliant idea.
The target of £100,000 is a big one but with the village community backing it it is very possible.
It is a very old feature in the village and having a solid concrete base is a classic point of it being really not good enough.
The old equipment is also something that sticks out so the children of the village deserve better.
It will take a bit of doing but the target can gather pace quickly. Crossgates has shown in the past that fundraising can work well, just look at the gala committee which raises a lot each year.
Unfortunately the village can’t rely on the cash strapped Fife Council to come to the rescue but maybe that will inspire people to back the cause, hopefully soon the money will come tumbling in.
The children of the village deserve better play facilities and with this group driving the way forward hopefully it will not be that long before the new playpark is there to be used.
PLAY RIGHT,
Droverhall Avenue,
Crossgates.
