IT is fair to say that Scottish football has got into a right mess through the coronavirus crisis.

The problems that the abandonment of the season in mid March has caused have been something that has never been seen before.

At the end of the day I feel that the the SPFL made the right decision to call time on the league season for the Championship and League 1 and League 2, for there was no way that the Government imposed restrictions would allow any play.

Then they saw the light and the Premier League was sorted out last week, but it should have been done earlier as there was no way that the restrictions were going to allow them to play either.

The same points per game idea to decide positions was not going to please everyone but a line had to be drawn somewhere.

However, the recent carry on over league reconstruction has been not good for the name of Scottish football and maybe sponsors will be put off by this. And now we hear that Hearts might be trying to keep the whole thing going.

All us football fans can hope for is that the coronavirus crisis ends relatively soon to allow the game to get back into action in the autumn at the latest.
