THE fly-tipping stories in the Times are bound to be linked to the closure of the Recycling Centres at Cuddyhouse Road and Cartmore.

Seeing things like tyres dumped at the side of roads in the district and general rubbish just simply discarded in the countryside is maddening.

I have seen simple litter hanging on bushes and trees and that is terrible.

However, seeing things like electrical gear and chairs and even tables in fields off roads, shows people simply dumping things to get rid of them.

Now not all of the folk that have done this would have taken them to the recycling centre, but a good number might have done that if these were open.

The two local centres have been shit for two months and frustrated folk will have just got a friend’s van and dumped them.

Surely recycling centres are places which are socially distancing friendly places where folk are in cars and never close to staff. Maybe time for a change in policy.
