THE story I saw on your website about people trying to set fire to trees in part of Benarty really was a bit upsetting.

It as just as well that lady who spotted things happening was there or you just wonder that they might have succeeded in doing.

They clearly did not watch their news bulletins on TV when all the problems were taking place in Australia with cities like Sydney surrounded by fires.

Now that might sound a bit dramatic but what I am saying is that if any sort of woodland is set on fire in the dry weather we have been experiencing in the run up to Easter, it could soon spread and cause a lot of damage to the trees and bushes that are there.

They really need a lesson on how to treat the countryside. Clearly they just don't care and if something bad happened they would just disappear into the sunset.

I noticed in your story it talked about a fire in woodland at Lochore Meadows last year, that is the sort of thing that should ring alarm bells.

OK it only needs a bit of glass to be lying in the sun to set up dry grass, but people deliberately setting fire to woodland is not good enough in my book.
