SO some council and committee cliques have decided that compensation from plants at Mossmorran are to go into a community purse.

Outrageous- all those years we have all backed groups trying to get compensation, all the time 'assuming' and being 'assured' that we, the people who are touched by the massive disturbance and sheer distress for all those past years and the future, would all be eligible, especially those firstly facing the plants no matter where the wind is.

All those suffering and anxious now about the future.

No one can condone giving to a central purse, this compensation was meant for all of us affected as a goodwill gesture but also to acknowledging that the plants cared for us.

We do not know what is going on but the sudden arising of councillors and committees now to take hold of compensation.

If compensation is being paid out let us hope both plants at Mossmorran realise that it is a slap in the face to us all on the receiving end.

We do hope both plants have the sense to realise that by not paying to those who suffered in the past and still suffering, they are completely 'ignoring' the plight of us all.

By giving us the one's on the receiving end compensation it would then show their remorse and compassion.

But if they give massive sums to a 'purse pot' for groups and committee there will be massive shouts of its 'a fix' and giving 'back-handed compensation'.

Come on Shell and Exxon, have some sympathy and feelings for those people, myself being one.

I can list how flaring and all the detriment with it, has effected myself and my wife.

The distress of going through that is bad enough, imagine if they give massive compensation to others who are not affected, but only after the money.

This is completely illogical and immoral. So lets hope Shell and Exxon, if they want goodwill, for their 'real neighbours' ie the one's affected, then for goodness sake be human and give it to those that deserve it, not those with their hands out.

Shame any councillors, also, who push this common 'purse pot'. Surely they can see it cannot benefit the victims, so why fight if not for them. All take a long lingering and caring look.

OAP,

Cowdenbeath.
