MAY I say how very deserving the people of the Benarty Community Shop were on getting their Citizen of the Year Award.
The shop has only really been going for three years and it has become a corner stone of the four villages.
The work of the volunteers has been outstanding and the services they provide for folk are really outstandingly good with nothing seeming to much difficulty.
The Benarty Square facilities are very definitely a real community hub and such is its reputation folk are queuing up to donate items that they can sell.
The money the community shop has raised in its relatively short time in existence is really amazing and I am sure that played its part in them getting the award for the donations they have been able to make have helped some good causes.
When you look at the success of Splash for Cash on New Year's Day and the community shop, plus the success of Benarty Events Group there is a whole lot good about this community.
