I DO not want to be a killjoy and enjoy a good firework display like the next person but I need to understand why people think it is all right to subject animals to abuse for over two weeks?

Fine, you want a noisy firework display, have it between 7-8pm on one night where we can relocate our animals to a safer place.

One of my dogs has been so terrified over the last fortnight that he refuses to go out to pee, even at 2am, has nearly torn his pads trying to get away from the noise outside and paces trembling in the house.

This is anti-social abuse and if it was happening to a person then charges would be getting placed by Police Scotland.

What I need to understand is what we are celebrating on November 9?

Guy Fawkes was during the week, the organised displays were during the week and Friday 8, so why do some adults think it is acceptable to keep this going on and on and on?

Where we live has been unacceptable as we have the Lochgelly Young Crew deciding that fireworks should go off after 10pm any day of the week.

Maybe the same young crew that smashes glass bottles on the park pavement? This letter is addressed to our local representatives, community councils and Police Scotland in trying to find a suitable local solution to the problem.

The last straw was tonight when we had an unofficial fireworks party in the new Avenue, the owners unaware that the wind was carrying the fireworks into our garden. Enough is enough!
