I AM very unhappy about the change in hours, indeed the cutting of hours, at Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre.

I wonder how much it costs to keep the swimming pool open for an extra 2.5 hours on a Saturday. How many staff are required to keep the pool open? What are the heating costs? Do they turn the heat off once it is closed?

Why again were the people affected by these changes notified by a small poster a appearing on the desk at Cowdenbeath.

What actions have the Fife and Leisure Trust taken to try to improve the revenue taken in during opening hours.

I have personally spent many hours at Cowdenbeath pool on a Saturday whilst my children learned to swim and keep a healthy lifestyle.

My son recently represented Scotland at waterpolo and could not have done this without the two hour training session from DASC as part of his training schedule.

Whilst he was training I sometimes used the gym, but this closed earlier than the rest of the building.

I wonder what actions they have done to make their gym prices more competitive?
