IT was interesting to hear about the young hairdressers' comments about Cowdenbeath High Street.

It is good to hear about someone who has found the town to be the place for his business and his path to opening his own salon.

He certainly seems confident about the prospects for the future of the centre of the town and after all to have four major superstores in the town shows that business people of all sizes sees the town worth getting involved in.

Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons and B&M would not be here if they did not think they will get the trade.

The beauty of having these organisations is that while folk come to shop at them they might go further into High Street and bring more business to other shops.

I wonder what the judges of the Best British High Street thought of Cowdenbeath. If they saw what it looked like a few years back they would see a huge difference and once the North End Park development is opened and the Crown Hotel is sorted it will be more or less fixed.

The work that has been done over the past 18 months or so has caused problems with temporary traffic lights and traffic flow disrupted at times but maybe we are now seeing the benefits from the problems caused.

The more folk that use the shops in High Street maybe will attract businesses to fill the few vacant spots there are running up and down it and the upward trend the young lad was talking about will continue strongly.

The High Street, is definitely on the up and long may it continue.

STREETER,

Foulford Road,

Cowdenbeath.
