I WAS very pleased to hear that a plan for another takeaway in Lochgelly's East Main Street was turned down by Fife Council.
That part of Main Street already has takeaway facilities in place and indeed, when you look at the whole of Main Street and also Bank Street Lochgelly is literally well served for takeaway facilities of all types.
Whatever someone or a family needs they can get it in Lochgelly so the council was right to turn down the application even although a cafe was part of the plan.
Maybe a bank might like to use the former TSB branch. For a growing town not to have one really is ridiculous and the whole area has but two branches to serve some 30,000 plus people. Not really acceptable!
THE TAKEAWAY,
Foote Street,
Lochgelly.
