THE words of MSP Annabelle Ewing about Lochgelly Gala were so very true.
The Gala Committee does a great job and are continuing all through the year to raise money.
It is not easy because I was told that it needs something five figures to make the gala turn out like it did a couple of weeks ago.
While there appear to be various sources that can be tapped into it must take a bit of time fundraising through collecting tins etc and that needs commitment.
There must have been a few concerns aired on the run up to Gala Day through the awful weather being experienced but while the day dawned not perfect at least it was good enough for the event to almost go the whole distance.
Without hard work this event just would not happen so the volunteers who perform miracles each summer deserve the warmest praise.
Hopefully they will keep their enthusiasm and ensure that the town keeps its big civic day for it is so important.
