WHAT a brilliant idea it has been to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cowdenbeath winning promotion to the old First Division by bringing back the strip of the 1969-70 season.
It really is an iconic shirt and I have noticed on the football fans' social media feeds that it gets favourable comments from fans of a lot of clubs.
It has been something that has been snapped up by Cowdenbeath fans and it really is a very good strip.
It as also tremendous to see the club name the new Club 135 lounge The Andy Matthew Lounge which further remembers what was a fantastic achievement by the team of 1969-70.
The team of that era was full of battlers who had no shortage of skill. Guys like Billy Bostock, Andy Kinnell and Jim Moore were classic of that ilk and hopefully the team of today, who are now wearing the same strip, will show the same qualities.
It will be needed for I believe that this season's League 2 have no soft touches in it and to get into the top half of the table the team will have to work very hard.
BLUE BRAZILIAN,
Kelty
