I CANNOT believe that the roads department of Fife Council seem to think there is nothing wrong with parking on the north side of East Main Street, in Lochgelly.

The report in the Times seem to suggest that they think that it is OK to park both sides of the street.

Clearly they have not followed a bus or a bin lorry trying to negotiate its way along this street 100 yard street with cars badly parked on the north side of East Main Street. On occasion it is a miracle that the bus can get through at all so I would have thought perhaps that the Roads people might think a little bit more about this.

Also there is now a caravan apparently permanently parked in the street which does not help the situation at all.

If the cars were to park in an orderly fashion on the north side of the road it would make a difference and help lorries and buses get through more easily.

But for the roads department's man to tell councillors that vehicles easily make their way along this road with cars parked on the north side is not true at all.

What must have been forgotten by these officials that passengers in cars parked on the north side are bound to have a struggle to get out of the vehicle they are in.

This is a problem which ain't going to go away so I hope that they keep their eye on things over the coming months.

Mid Street,
