WHAT a strange story that appeared in the Times last week about the former shop in Station Road, being deemed as a live building by the water board.

The Community Forum took on what had been a real blight in the centre of Cardenden.

That former shop building had gone to rack and ruin over a period of many years and it seemed like the owner of the day had no interest in bringing it in any way up to standard.

It was set to stay in its place and completely dominate this part of the village. So when the Community Forum bought the site and turned it into the rather nice floral area you have to say it was a jb well done.

How they have found themselves being chased for water bill money for a building that does not exist is rather strange for sure.

Presumably it was been one of these strange sort of quirks that happens in the big organisations and it will be sorted out for the future.

I hope though, it does not put off the Forum from taking over other ugly buildings and getting them sorted out.

The former Youth Centre on Main Street has to be the worst looking building, if only because of its size.

It has lain unused for many years and because of its size dominates that part of Cardenden.

If the Forum could somehow get hold of it and find some way of improving it what a boon it would be for the village and its residents.

WATER MATTER!
