THE Universal Credit issue raised by our MP Lesley Laird is definitely something that needs sorted out.

I might be wrong here but I reckon it was almost 18 months ago that it arrived in our area and I know several people that have had problems with it.

Some aspects seem to work, some don't and that is the problem.

I read in the Times that the Government claim that it is about ensuring the right folk get the right money and that would be fine if the cash arrived exactly at the right time.

But delays can be really awkward for people and can cause many problems for individuals and families and Lesley is right to be tackling it head on.

When you look at the TV news there are Government Ministers who seem to be pretty understanding of the problems being caused and pledge to sort it out but then there are still a great many folk having problems.

Hopefully Lesley will be joined by a lot of politicians at Westminster in keeping up the pressure and something will be done.

CREDITOR,
